Challenging Paradigms: Popular Religion in Punjab

This presentation has two dimensions: firstly a theoretical section, which explores some of the challenges which RE teachers can expect to encounter in the course of teaching about the Hindu, Sikh and Muslim traditions as living faiths which are now widely practiced in Britain. The second section is more empirical. Using a multitude of photographs, it explore the actual content of popular practice across all three traditions in contemporary Punjabi contexts.
